Rights Respecting Schools
Spring Grove is a Rights Respecting School. This means we abide by the Charter of Children’s Rights and actively teach children to understand their Rights and the Responsibilities which come with them through our curriculum.
Each class has a Charter which outlines the main Articles that they will abide by and lists the Responsibilities that come with them. This forms the basis of the class’ ethos and our behaviour management in school.
We also have Charters for Playtime and Lunchtime and for each of our groups in school such as School Council, Peer Buddies etc.
We also have a very active Steering Group which meets regularly to plan activities to promote RRS. The children who are part of our Steering Group would like to explain a little more about the main Articles which we learn about. If you are interested we would love you to join us! Everyone is welcome!
We have recently become the very first primary school to attain Unicefs Level 2 Rights Respecting Award. This means that RRS is embedded fully into our curriculum and also integral to any community involvement we have. If you would like to read the Examiner article about the award, CLICK HERE.
